Using latest technologies and the best suitable mix of illuminants, today the cabin lighting systems of Diehl Aerospace illuminate aircraft cabins in an optimal way. By avoiding glare, indirect illumination from the sidewall and ceiling lights the cabin appears vast, clean and comfortable. Spotlights may illuminate special areas like bars and galleys, whereas LED strip lights are accentuating washtables in lavatories. Specific needs of passengers can be taken into account with individually controllable reading lights.

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), replacing fluorescent tubes, are paving the way for a completely new trend in cabin lighting, enabling new perspectives in cabin design and the potential to reduce maintenance effort significantly. As the market and technology leader, Diehl Aerospace is the first company in the world to introduce an all-LED lighting system, which will be used on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

System solutions for military aircraft have been designed as well, for example the cabin lighting system for the transport helicopter NH90, one specific requirement is Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) compatibility.
